The Hashtag Series by Cambria Hebert

I have had my eye on this series for quite a while.  How could I not?  Promos have been everywhere.  Facebook and Twitter have both been all a buzz.  Everyone has been talking about it.  Why did I wait? I could shake myself for not reading it sooner.  Huge shout out and thanks to author, Christy Sloat, for sealing the deal for me by suggesting we (Cheree, Christy & I) read it together.  Without further ado, I give The Hashtag Series Review!

I think it is pretty safe to say we all know what these books are about so this a condensed blurb for each.

#NERD
Two people from completely different worlds are about to be thrown together...
In more ways than one. She wants to keep her scholarship. He wants to stay on the team. An awkward alliance doesn't even begin to cover Rimmel and Romeo's relationship. But that's about to change. It starts with a dare. An initiation. A challenge. Quickly, it turns into more. But when you're a victim of your status, there is no room for anything real. The rules are clear and simple. Stick to your circle. And never fall in love with anyone on the outside.

#HATER
Becoming a couple - becoming the other half of a campus celebrity wasn't easy. I let down walls guarding my heart and he looked past my glasses and accident prone tendencies. Romeo and I are an unlikely match, a #nerd and a jock. But we made it. And we're happy.
Zach doesn't want us to be happy. He wants Romeo to pay for getting him kicked out of Omega and for the night he spent in jail. He's going to use anything and everything he can to get his revenge. Including me.  As the weather on campus grows cold and the days become dark, revenge becomes the center of someone's life and the happiness Romeo and I worked so hard for is threatened.

#PLAYER
Even though I deny what I overheard, even though I insist it isn’t true, the seed of doubt has been planted. I can’t help but be tormented with the endless what-if’s that have taken over our lives.  Romeo and I were happy in love. The future stretched before us brighter than any star in the darkest sky. Now everything is broken. Literally broken. Romeo’s entire career is at stake, my entire future is threatened… and my past? It’s coming back to haunt me.  To haunt us.

Now to the good stuff #REVIEWS

#NERD  5 Stars
While not my typical read, I have to say I really enjoyed #NERD by Cambria Hebert. The characters, especially Rimmel, were easily relatable. The story was not just fluff and dealt with real issues of abandonment, loss and love. I liked getting to know Rimmel as her layers were slowly stripped away. Love may have changed her outward appearance and pulled her from her shell but it didn't change who she really was on the inside. It didn't change her identity. That's a great lesson for all woman!

#HATER   5 Stars
#Hater was intense. I read it in two sessions only because I had to work but one session could have been easily doable. There is a lot going on in Book 2 of the Hashtag series. Zach is looking for revenge. Romeo is gearing up to impress the NFL Recruiters. And Rimmel is getting ready to apply to vet school in the Fall. Of course Romeo and Rimmel are still a hot couple and “haters gonna hate.”

Both Romeo and Rimmel’s characters have gained depth and grown. While still arrogant and sporting a huge ego, Romeo shows his softer side too. You get that he genuinely loves Rimmel. He would toss aside football for her! As Rimmel’s layers are peeled back you get more insight into how losing her mom at a young age truly affected her. Deep down she wants to be accepted and she craves the family Romeo has.

#Hater is fast paced and a definite page turner. Thank goodness the final book #Player is out because I would be doing some serious Cambria Hebert stalking right about now.

#PLAYER  5 Stars

#Player was by far the best in the series. I started reading it around 10pm, forced myself to bead at 2AM and picked back up this afternoon at 3pm. I could not wait to finish!

The intensity. The drama. The suspense. The SEX. Oh my. #Player had it all. Zach finally gets his due but it’s no happily ever after for Rimmel and Romeo. Secrets from Rimmel’s past surface and she has no choice but to confront them head on. Why was her mom’s death not ruled and accident? Did her dad have a gambling problem? Had her whole life been a lie? #Player answers all that and more. The suspense was torture. Nail biting even. Oh Ms. Cambria Hebert you definitely have a new #stalker!

Cheree's Reviews

#Nerd
This book made me a goober. I am officialy gooberfied. By that I mean I squeaked and giggled and hopped around saying “ohmygosh eeeeep!!!” And then stopped and realized it, I’m a goober! I loved this book so much I almost can’t even stand it! I love Rimmel and all her quirky goodness, I can relate to her so much! And Romeo, oh Romeo, typical jock douche, but what is a good little nerd for if not to break through a hard outer shell? It’s hard to say anything without giving things away. I never read this genre of book, but I am totally hooked to the Hashtag series! A MUST READ!

#Hater
FANTASTIC! As much as I loved #Nerd, I loved #Hater even more! This book follows Rimmel and Romeo's relationship further. And the things they go through in this book are CRAZY! You didn't really think Zach was gonna leave Romeo alone did you? I devoured this book, couldn't put it down! Still a fun a lighthearted read, even will all the drama and crazy stuff that happens. So happy I have #Player already! Because the ending would be a killer if I had to wait.

#Player
Best one yet! If it is even possible, they just keep getting better and better! With every book the action gets more intense, and we have just moved to INTENSE! But the love this couple shares is so amazing, and through everything they go through, their love only grows stronger! For the Record, I love Romeo. Seriously, this guy is amazing. I love that this book isn't about them doubting their love or if they should stay together!! It is refreshing to see they cling to each other and their love for strength to make it through. Because boy to they have obstacles thrown at them. But it is also not a sappy romance either. An intense read that you seriously can not put down.
