Cheree and I love author Delphina Henley.  We got to know her through her Facebook page and fantastic blog, Delphina Reads Too Much.  Her stalking skills are unrivaled!  Seriously, if she is a fan of yours, you will know it!  Delphina is a wonderful, down to earth gal, and 2 Girls are very proud to call her our friend.  We are honored to be a part of her release day blitz and to have an EXCLUSIVE interview with Delphina, the author.

5 Star Review from Cheree
I was so lucky and got an early copy of this amazing and fun story! All these characters are so relate-able and loveable! So fun and quirky, I found that I have a few funny words and silly antics in common with them. Plus I love some of the same books they love!!

This book starts with Scout, trying to find a place to read a letter from her best friend, her grandma that has just passed. Signs of the un-ordinary are everywhere, but just 2 lines in is all she makes it before the bomb is dropped. Everything is about to change, can Scout handle it? She leaves for college and hopes to find some answers. But with answers come more questions. She meets Val, her new roommate who couldn't be better matched for her, and some new friends that are just what she needs. I can't really go into much more without giving away so much greatness, but I have just one word.....Pierce ;)I also love that at the end, you get a nice clean wrap up, with expectations for another book to come, without that feeling of incompleteness. Amazing first book for an up and coming author! I can't wait for more!

Interview with Author Delphina Henley

1. What was the transition like from award winning blogger to author?
I've pretty much always been an author. I wrote stories as a kid and wrote "books" in notebooks as a teen. You know all the basic cliches. That was me. I am just now brave enough to share it with the world. Took a few decades. The blogging and writing both came from the same place in my heart. The love of reading. To be honest, I still haven't wrapped my head around the fact that I am an award winning blogger.

2. Is Unless You Can Be A Unicorn a stand alone?
Absolutely. While this is the first in a series, each book focuses on a different character.

3. Do you have a current WIP and if so can you tell us about it?
I am currently working on Tell Me About Your Unicorn, which is Val's story.

4. You are a wife, mother, blogger and now author. How do you balance all that? When do you find the time to write?
I am not sure I balance it all, but I try to. My hubby is an amazing support and without him I would be dropping the ball all the time. School days during nap time and weekends are my big writing times and I am a night time reader. Somehow it all seems to get done. Well, mostly done.

5. What authors influence you the most?
I think my first and biggest influence is Madeline L'engle. She was the first author that had me fangirling. I wish I had gotten a chance to meet her. She seemed like such an amazing woman. When my writing style was compared to hers by an early reader I was overcome with emotion. It is one of the biggest compliments I have ever received. As far as more contemporary authors, I think Addison Moore, Jessica Sorensen, Mary Ting, and Elizabeth Kirke would probably be my most influential. They are amazing woman, fabtabulous writers, and I have embarrassingly fangirled them all with lack of words and everything.

Delphina Henley has always been a unicorn. Attracted to the worlds of words and unique magical creatures from a very early age, she's made reading a full time career. In January 2012 she founded her blog Delphina Reads Too Much. Since then, she's worked with countless authors through the writing, revising and release processes, learning about the craft and business 'til her head and heart were bursting with an absolute need to bring this story into the world.

When she's not writing or reading, Delphina can be found playing with her four kids and her husband back home at Michigan. Even her one year old is addicted to books. And of course, they all love unicorns.
