Author Interview
Ending the series was bittersweet for me, for several reasons. Honestly, I didn’t want to say goodbye to any of my characters. The series may have ended but if readers paid attention to book 3, they’d see that I ended the book with, ‘To be continued’. It leaves my plans for the series continuation very open for the fans.
Will we see anything further from Brylee and Ephraim?
Yes! I’m happy to announce that there will be a spin-off series releasing sometime in the next year. The Shadows Trilogy which will consist of three full length books will follow Brylee as an adult. She will be following the path set out for her. There are many questions still about why she can see the dead, and I’m happy to answer them all in these books. Ephraim will be in the books as well.
I’m also bringing back a few fan favorites from one of my other series. I won’t say who just yet!
For those who not familiar with this series, it is based on actual events. Is the house on the cover of TBH the actual home? If not where did the inspiration for it and the other covers come from?
Yes the book is based on actual events that really happened to my husband and his family while they lived in the home. The story about the houses true origin is my own imaginings but the ghostly things that happen to Brylee are real.
The house on the cover of book one is the actual house, yes. One day I was going through old photos of the house and found this one. My publisher and I agreed that it was important to show the actual house.
The other covers inspiration come from items that are the center, if you will, of the story. For example The Crimson Key cover shows a key and a white rose. The key is very important for Brylee to guard and the white rose holds a major significance to a terrible tragedy that occurs.
The final book, The White Door, is my most favorite because the cover model is my niece Taylor Hensley. She was gracious enough to model for me. If you look closely you’ll see she’s holding something very important to the books.
Do you believe in ghosts? Have you ever seen one?
I do believe in ghosts. I’ve never seen an apparition but I’ve had some very strange things happen to me that I believe to be spirits trying to make contact. In The Brown House, the very first thing to happen in the house to Brylee that is ghostly actually happened to me while on my honeymoon.
Would you stay in house over night if you knew it was haunted?
The only reason I would say yes to this is if I could do it with my friends; I’d be too scared to do it alone. I may write about this but I’m a big chicken!

A Review of The Visitors Series
Lynn~~~
The Visitor's Series is one of my favorite reads. It is a new twist on ghost telling. The home featured in the series is REAL. The author's husband lived in the home with his parents. Some of the occurrences that are in the book actually happened while Christy's husband lived in the home. This makes the books all the more scary. The fact that these things could and did happen will leave you peeking from under the covers the next time you hear a bump in the night.
The characters are relatable. As the reader you can connect with the main character, Brylee Branson, become invested and watch her grow. You see Brylee go from a selfish brat in The Brown House to a carrying and compassionate young woman in The White Door. The Visitor's Series is not just a ghost story. It is about family, friendship, finding your first love and your purpose in this world.
Unfound, the novella, is based on Kayla's story. Kayla is one of the souls trapped by the Brown House. She has a unique personality and despite being a ghost, is a great friend to Brylee.
If you haven't discovered the wonderful books of Christy Sloat, take my advise and check her out.

Love a good haunted house story? Well hold onto your hats because you have never read a story like this before! Meet Brylee, young, pretty and in the prime of her life, then her parents decide to move to the opposite side of the country and start over. They move to a creepy brown house in New Jersey. Talk about your fixer upper! And from here starts Brylee’s adventure and discovery that she is a Medium and can not only see, but communicate with ghosts. This series follows Brylee as she finds out the truth to the curse of the house she has grown to love, new friends that will change her forever, and a love that most people only dream of. Brylee won’t stop until she breaks this curse and frees the innocent people that were affected by one person’s selfish actions, as the curse keeps spiraling out of control and taking more innocent victims, including people Brylee loves very much. This series is so frightening yet beautiful, sad but happy, has so many twists and oh my gosh moments you will constantly be wanting more. A series that you can enjoy over and over again. An original and gripping story that will have you flying through the pages!

Christy Sloat has me keeping my nightlight on, wondering if that sound was in fact the wind or something else. The Visitor’s Series/ Unfound are by far one of my favorite series. The Brown House, The Crimson Key, The White Door, and Unfound have carried on the haunted tale of a Teenager whose ability to talk to the dead has unearthed a terrifying family history. Christy’s consistency in tapping into each and every character as a whole will no doubt make you love them or hate them. Christy stirs the emotions by dealing with real time feelings that so many teenagers feel and real time situations that we would never want to experience.
Brylee Branson, is a typical teenager with typical problems… she wishes. Brylee finds out that she is a medium who wants nothing more than to help those spirits in her home to pass over, but curses from beyond the grave will have life changing effects not only on the love of her life, Ephrim, and her best friends Lynley and Kayla. I must say, of all the characters in the series I had an instant connection with Kayla while reading The Brown House and was thrilled when Christy decided to write Unfound to allow an insight on her life. Twists and turns in the story leave many “A-ha!” moments but don’t think for a minute you won’t need that box of tissues either. This story embodies friendship in every way and shows you that empowerment with the help of family and friends does come from within.

Some secrets should never be revealed…
Brylee Branson begrudgingly made the excruciating move with her family from the warm sandy beaches of California to small town living in New Jersey. As if she wasn’t miserable enough, they’ve moved into a creepy old house that everyone in the area claims is haunted. Brylee dismisses the idea of ghosts and hauntings, until she begins to see and hear things that can’t be explained…
Brylee has no choice but to seek the help of new friends to unlock the secrets of this place she now calls home. But some secrets should never be revealed. Can the teens find a way to release the spirits imprisoned within the walls? Or will the curse claim them, too?
