Book 1
The In-Betweener
Emily’s life is death. In the two years since nanites started wiping out the population, she’s sent a thousand deaders and in-betweeners to their deaths. Between fighting for her life and hiding in a tiny, windowless office at night, she’s just trying to get one more day of life.
The nanites were supposed to give humanity longer and healthier lives, cure diseases, and make the world a better place to live in. Instead, they divided humans into three groups: humans, deaders, and the flesh-eating in-betweeners. At eighteen, Emily thought life would be different. Dating, college, and maybe giving her mom a few reasons to worry were the plans she had in mind. Now, she talks to herself and smashes heads with her favorite sledgehammer.
Everything changes one bright morning when one of the deaders at Emily’s fence isn’t a deader at all. He’s an in-betweener different from any she has seen before…and he has a message. If Emily can muster up the courage, she might have a chance at life after all.
The In-Betweener is book one of the exciting post-apocalyptic trilogy, Between Life and Death. With mild language and occasional violence, (and some very gross undead), this series is suitable for ages 16 and up.
My 5 Star Review
What can I say beside READ IT! It is going to be hard for me to put to words my feelings about this book/series......I simply adore it. Is it weird to say that about a zombie apocalypse book? Probably, but it's true. This book/series has simply everything you could possibly want from a book, and then some. For the first time in my life I did not write my review immediately after I finished this book, I had to read the next book, then the next one before I could do anything else, so alas, I have devoured this entire series and have now come back to write my review, I will try to sum up this fantastic book....
Starting out right off the bat we meet Sam, a very likable young man scouting out a place for the 5 children, who we meet briefly, that he is taking care of and hiding out with in the middle of the city during the zombie apoc. Scary stuff. Then we meet Emily.....let me take a moment to state that I freaking love this chick! Amazing and unimaginable, and horrible things proceed to happen, I laughed, I cried, then I cried a little more. Enter Veronica and Jon, amazing. Veronica is 16 or 17 I think, and Jon is 2 (it is 2 years into the apoc at this point) Veronica is not Jon's mother but has been acting as one all his life and saved him over and over again. This story line is ingenious! I don't want to say anything more and give anything away, because the way it is revealed and the information is divvied out to you is very wonderfully done. I love me some post apoc/dystopian reading, but I don't read a lot of zombies, but this zombie series will definitely be on my shelf! And now I'm curious to read more zombie stuff, and definitely more books by Ann Christy! I loved her section in Prep For Doom by BOD, and her writing style, that is why I chose this series as my next read. And I gotta say, I'm hooked!!

Book 2
Forever Between
The last time Veronica checked, the world outside was still dead…and still covered by the sort-of-undead remnants of humanity. That was this morning. Now, she has to run that gauntlet to try and save Emily, just as Emily once saved her.
Four years ago the world was destroyed by medical nanites gone awry, leaving humanity divided into three groups: the living, deaders, and the horrific in-betweeners. Emily’s only hope for a cure lies eighty miles away at a military hospital where nanite treatments were once given, and she’s running out of time. Between Veronica and that hospital is a world of flesh-eating monsters and possibly something even worse…humans. If Veronica fails to get there, Emily will be trapped forever between life and death.
Forever Between is book two in the exciting post-apocalyptic trilogy, Between Life and Death. With mild language and occasional violence, (and some very gross undead), this series is suitable for ages 16 and up.
My 5 Star Review
Wooowee....that was just....awesome! This whole series is one I couldn't put down! I had to read the entire series before I could break to write my review. In this book we follow Veronica, but Emily is still there...ish. Just so many emotions and crazy things happens here. We get to meet some new characters and get a glimpse into a new world and way of life. Jeremy is a pretty awesome character I want to give a little shout out to. This is no romance, but he helps put a little love and tummy flutters on a dire situation.
There may be possibility for a cure, but some "bumps in the road" could cause problems. Veronica is dead set on heading to the military hospital 80 miles away to find the nanites that could, maybe possibly hopefully, save Emily, and nothing is going to stop her. But what she finds there is more than she can imagine, and it changes everything, big time. Like book 1, this book is filled with amazing characters and back stories. Filled with shocking realities of what life would be like and the lows people will stoop to. Lots of emotions and plenty of laughs, which is refreshing in a story like this. Ann sure has a knack for making me love Emily even more in this one, she is simply adorable. I keep loving this series more and more!

Book 3
Between Life and Death
An endless, broiling summer bakes the deaders that roam the world. Veronica feels stuck in limbo while she waits for news that might bring an end to the nightmare that has overtaken their world. Between bashing heads and scavenging for what’s left, it’s all she can do to keep on going. Back at the warehouse complex, the rest of the group keeps watch over their group of captive in-betweeners and tries to stay alive.
At long last, Veronica finds a package left by Princeton and Violet at their drop-off point. Everything is finally going their way and a cure for the in-betweeners might finally be within their grasp.
But, nothing is easy in the post-nanite world of deaders and in-betweeners. Not everyone wants a cure for the nanite plague. Around every shiny, white cloud is a deep, black lining. This time, the clouds are smoke and there is a storm coming.
Between Life and Death is book three in the exciting, post-apocalyptic Between Life and Death trilogy. With mild language and occasional violence, (and some very gross undead), this series is suitable for ages 16 and up.
My 5 Star Review
What a roller coaster! The last book in the series and it is so full of crazy action and breathtaking moments, what a ride! I can’t stand that this is the last book tho, as perfect as it is. I need more! I need to know the in betweens (see what I did there) of the end. I feel that Ann Christy did leave so much room for future books for us, well, I can hope anyways. The very ending of this book is pure perfection. Everything is tied up so nicely, just thinking about it now makes my heart flutter and my tummy warm and fuzzy. I love that the end of a zombie apocalypse book ends this way and gives me these feelings. The good guys actually win. There is so much character building in this book. We really get to know each of the people that came to the group in book 2, and what amazing people they are. Plus we get to meet more wonderful, heroic people, and some major ‘A’ holes as well. The story line and little relationship hiccups are so realistic to some of the things we all think about but never really “talk about” like the smells and lack of privacy, the things we will see and have to do, and how scary love would be. So many different little things, that make you giggle and make you sad. True hardships and heartbreaking things are are dealt with and survived, and the writing is so brilliant and well done that you know what these people feel, and you feel like you are right there with them. My favorite part about the book is really something I don’t want to talk about because it is so brilliant! So wonderful I was shouting and fist pumping the air in my celebration and approval of how things ended up going down! I don’t want to ruin it for you readers, just know there is so much goodness here! As I sit here typing out my review, I Have the desire to go back and read the entire series again! Fingers and toes crossed for more in this series!

AND...book 4,
The Book of Sam
Unfortunately, all you get of this is my review and this amazing cover!!! So keep you eyes peeled for this absolutely wonderful prequel!
My 5 Star review
The Book of Sam, a prequel for Between Life and Death series by Ann Christy is just….freaking epic!! We meet Sam in The In-Betweener, book 1 in the series, and you can tell how big a heart he has in the little bits of him we get to see there. But in this book, you grow to love and cherish this man and the size of his heart. He is a selfless, kind, giving, piece of wonderful! I found that the more I read into this book, the more I could feel my heart constricting, knowing what was coming. Little things that shouldn’t have been a big deal, made me break down into tears! I also love that with this book we get to see Ann’s version of the apocalypse from the first day it goes down, and how it all starts. We get to see how he meets Veronica, who is the main character of books 1&2 in this series, and how they managed to survive for 2 years before Emily finds them. I found myself hoping and wishing that the ending would change, but, this is no fairy tale.
I absolutely love this series, and didn’t think it could get any better, until I read this book. All I can really say is this is a series that MUST BE READ!!!
