#Scarefest2015 ~ The Haunting of Sunshine Girl by Paige McKenzie

I love October.  Fall is the air.  Leaves are turning red, yellow and orange.  Mornings are crisp and cool.   And horror movies are on 24/7.  I prefer the classics; Halloween with Michael Myers, the first Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th.  You get the idea.  I also love to read scary books this time of year.  Thus #scarefest2015 was born.  I hope you guys enjoy the books you find shared here all month long.  But...BEWARE OF THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT.

Let me preface this review by saying I don’t do spoilers.  Because of that I feel like my review does not do this book justice but I can’t give it away either.  Does that make sense?  I can tell you this…The Haunting of Sunshine Girl is more than just a ghost story. Sunshine gets a glimpse into her past, her birth parents and her true heritage.  I cannot wait to see what happens to her in the next book.

****4 Star Review
The Haunting of Sunshine Girl left me with goose bumps and peeking under the bed and double checking the closet.  What starts out as cute, fun giggles of a young girl soon turns to tortured sobs at night.  It’s a suspense read of an original storyline and a definite page turner.  I like that it is creeptastic without all the hollywood gore of a straight up horror story.  A great YA read for late middle and high school kids.  Adults who like a good haunting with enjoy this one too.

Paige McKenzie is the teen star of the hit YouTube channel The Haunting of Sunshine Girl. What began as a simple "girl and her haunted house" story has grown to a multi-webisode network with stories of zombies, ghosts, Sasquatch and lots of Sunshine! Full of positivity, humor and plenty of scares, The Haunting of Sunshine Girl has allowed Paige to spread her unique brand of adorkableness to other teens (and many adults) all over the world! At the age of 16, Paige (along with her mother, actress Mercedes Rose and producing partner, Nick Hagen) co-founded the production company Coat Tale Productions. The Haunting of Sunshine Girl was recently optioned by The Weinstein Company for development into a book series with a film (or two) to follow! Paige is gluten free, vertically challenged and quotes movies as easily as breathing.
