I hate to say goodbye to 2014. Many wonderful things happened in my life this year. After meeting author Christy Sloat and being introduced to Street Teams, I decided I needed a way to promote my favorite authors. Thus 2 Girls & A Book was born in February. Suddenly I had goals and a purpose for the year. I wanted to submerge myself in all things book related. From that I landed/stalked my first PA job with author Kristin Clark in March. From there I assisted and worked with other fabulous authors such as; Alicia Michaels, Elizabeth Kirke and Stacey Rourke.
The Indie Community has been nothing but loving, accepting, and very gracious to 2 Girls & A Book. I have met some remarkable people on my journey and my signed book collection has grown to cover an entire shelf. I am thankful for each of them. I wonder, do authors know how much a personal message means to a fan? It makes me giddy and I grin like the Cheshire Cat every time I pick one up and read it again and again.
Another treasure that I gained this year is my friendship with Cheree Castallanos. To find someone who shares your passion is a gift. She brings diversity to the blog and has introduced me to several great authors. I look forward to seeing our friendship and partnership grow in 2015.
Book nerds like myself often ask me how they can help out their favorite authors. It is quite simple really. Read and review their books. Talk about it with your friends. If you are really passionate, start a blog. It never hurts to send an author a message expressing how a book made you feel or how much you love their work. Sometimes your words come at the exact moment they are needed most. You might be surprised what you get back out of it.
Cheree and I hope that you continue to follow us and support your favorite authors into the New Year. We are so very humbled and thankful to the authors and fans for making this dream possible.
