Mystery
Blurb
The house, known to the locals as The Four Chimneys, had been constructed by a rich and powerful lumber baron over a hundred years ago and was now being watched over by the caretaker Mrs. Pritchard, and her son Elroy.
Moving to Michigan seemed like a perfect way for John to escape a failing marriage and to get his daughter, Samantha, away from the mean streets of Chicago.
John and Samantha’s idyllic country lifestyle is soon in danger as they discover Four Chimneys comes with a multitude of secrets, some of them deadly.
Crystal's Review

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This is a local author, the book takes place in the UP which is the only reason I picked it up. I really liked being able to picture Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula while it was described in the book. However this book was slow, granted I read it in under 24 hours but it was slow, it felt flat. The ending however WOW. I was hooked by the end. Finally the mystery and suspense that was promised through the whole book.
I would be willing to try another book by this author, in hopes that his writing grew. This book is 7 years old so I am hopeful!
