They say a leopard canât change its spots, but I beg to differ. Iâm not the girl I used to be, and now is my chance to prove it.
Iâm back at the high school where I burned a lot of bridges and hurt a lot of people. Only this time, Iâm not a studentâ¦Iâm a teacher. I want to repair the damage I caused and move onâ¦hopefully with Bennett Sawyer.
Iâm stunned when I find out Bennett just so happens to be one of my new studentsâand the principalâs son. I didnât know it when we began dating, and now weâve got to put an end to our relationship, or risk losing everything.
But the attraction between us is unstoppable, and when jealousy gets in the way, all I want to do is mark my territory, but I canât.
With a smile like his, and a body to die for, can I stay away from him and pretend he means nothingâ¦until he graduates in ten weeks?

Weâd never had a meaningful conversation, other than how tight to make the handcuffs, and I wasnât about to start with my father as the topic.
âHe doesnât exactly scream âfather figure,â does he? I mean, he was laying the moves on you after school.â
âHe what?â
âDonât be daft, Christina. Youâre telling me you didnât notice the way he stood too close, or let his hand linger on your body too long?â I scoffed.
âYou certainly noticed, didnât you?â
âFrom the other side of the parking lot. Yes.â She was so close again, I could just reach out and pull her to me. âDid it make you feel special?â
âNo. It made my skin crawl.â
âGood.â My lips curved into a small smile. I was glad she didnât enjoy his attention.
We were silent again, watching each other. She licked her lips, and her fingers twitched in front of her. She looked as though she was fighting the urge to reach for me as much as I was.
âThis,â she raised her hand after a few more moments and flicked it between us, âis over. You know that, right?â
I knew she was right. It had to end, but that didnât mean I had to like it. We were great together. She was made for me, my hands, my body, and given enough time, it could have become something more. I said I was an ass before, but that wasnât true. I liked her and could maybe come to care about her more, but I wasnât that much of a jerk to continue this affair and risk her job, her reputationâhell, even her freedom. Or mine. If my father discovered our relationship, heâd kick me out without even blinking.
I pushed off the car and closed the distance between us. Her breath caught in her throat as she lowered her head and looked at the ground. My left hand rested on her hip, and my right grabbed her hair, pulling it tightly until she was staring me in the eyes. Her entire body pressed against mine. I leaned down, and my body hummed, wanting to kiss her one last time but knowing I shouldnât. I brushed my lips against her cheek and smiled when she melted against me, trying to turn her face so Iâd kiss her.
âI know,â I whispered against her ear, and then I released her, stepped back, and opened my car door. âIâll see you at school, Ms. Brown.â
