Terrifying beasts. Deadly serpents. This vlogger wants to save them all....

Mason Dixon is a verified internet celebrity. Yet his vlog is just a ruse to spread disinformation so he can secretly relocate endangered cryptids. But when Mason and his camera operator Emma find themselves on a dragon-like gowrow's bad side, calling cut won't save them....

Barely subduing the volatile creature, Mason and Emma are stunned when the lair contains gowrow eggs. While transporting the creature's spawn across county lines is illegal, the law has never stopped Mason before. But when the precious cargo starts hatching, the monster-hunting duo's latest rescue could end up too hot to handle.

Can Mason save the endangered beasts before he becomes extinct?

Audiobook Review

Asher just keeps knocking it out of the park.

I grew up hearing old wives tales about things that go bump in the night or roam woods the woods at night. I always thought it was just my grandma's way of getting me in the house at dark. Eric Asher has taken those wild tales about bigfoot, the giant panthers, and others to create this new wild and crazy series. It's like the show Paranormal Caught on Camera but on steroids with claws, fangs, and sometimes fur! I love the MC. Mason's snark and humor are classic Asher traits. And I am adding getting snockered with a sasquatch to my bucket list!

The narrator, Joel L Froomkin, is perfect! I can picture myself right in the thick of things.

Witch This Way, (A Holiday Hills Witch Cizy Mystery Series  Bk 2) by Carolyn Ridder Aspenson

Picture
Welcome to Holiday Hills, where there is magic & mystery in the air...

I wear many hats:
I'm a friend.
A sort-of girlfriend.
A ghostwriter, and…
...oh yeah, a witch.

My editor always tells me to “write what you know.” Unfortunately, that’s what’s happening...literally.

When the main character in my latest novel—a witch herself—takes a new job with the Magical Bureau of Investigators, she stumbles upon a threat so big, it could destroy everything she holds dear.

Fiction, right?
Nope.

For reasons beyond my witchy sixth sense, everything I write is now happening to me in real life!

Did I mention my character gets into REALLY bad situations? Now I’ve got to figure out who’s cast this awkward spell and find a way to reverse it.

And if I don’t do it soon, I might just wind up the "dead" in my deadline

Review

Carolyn Ridder Aspenson is hands down my favorite cozy mystery writer. The only thing that makes this particular series even better is that it is a paranormal cozy. Witches and warlocks and shifters, oh my!

Abby's book is literally writing itself and the events on the screen are happening in real life. This installment is fraught with danger and suspicion. Just when I thought i have the "who done it' figured out the author through me a curveball.

And let's just say a certain someone in the series isn't who or what he or she appears to be. Can you say bombshell?

Reaper vs. Ripper (Fear the Reaper Bk 1) by Stacey Rourke

Picture
History knows me by many names. Nyx, the Goddess of Night. Lilith, the Lady of Darkness. Selaphiel, the fifth angel of God. But the course of my life has been determined by my greatest mistake. I opened the gate and allowed Lucifer to fall. Booted from Heaven for my sin, I serve my penance as a reaper. By collecting history’s most twisted souls, I work to one day earn my ticket home.

Case #663

The heinous crimes of Jack the Ripper are known throughout the ages, yet his true identity remains shrouded in mystery. Scythe in hand, it falls to me to claim his soul. Who he is, I don’t care. What made him this way makes no difference. My lone goal is to ensure that he face final judgment.

Ring the bell and alert the Bobbies. It’s reaper versus Ripper in a battle for the title of the true harbinger of death.

Review

I was ensnared in the Reaper's charm from page one. This hauntingly poetic excerpt from Rourke's new series could easily be her best work yet.

Nyx is a strong, powerful; yet broken reaper. My heart ached for her. Lucifer is every bit the male chauvinist I expected him to be. The group is rounded out with Ezekiel who is the voice of reason for the trio.

I love the spin Rourke is putting on the good vs. evil, the Devil vs. God story. I cannot wait to see where this story goes

The Detective Kay Hunter Series is hands down one of my absolute favorites. I have completed the entire series via audiobooks. The narrator Alison Campbell is brilliant. She has brought to life each of these stories for me. She lends a unique voice to each character and the portrayal is congruent in every book.

Author Rachel Amphlett touches on a few dark issues with the story but she handled it very well. I devoured Turn to Dust just as I have all the previous books. Detective Hunter is a strong female lead character who is tenacious, strong, and supportive. I love her interactions with her husband. A highlight in each book is to see what animal he will be treating at home.

Review

I couldn't put this book down. My heart is still racing. Magic Vanished is an edge of your seat thrill ride.

So much drama is happening at once. Someone from the gang is missing. TS's soulpack bond with Delihia is hanging on by a thread. The entire pack is temporarily suspended from MES. And, then there is a labyrinth. A FREAKING LABYRINTH! Y'all...I am not okay.

And that ending...

The Death of Me (Clearview Academy Book 1) by Amy Richie

Avery Lewis is dead.

Avery is destined to be the queen of senior year at Clearview Academy... at least, until she's murdered over the summer.
When she wakes up behind a dumpster in an alley, she knows something is wrong. Things go from really bad to worse for Avery after she's visited by a Reaper and realizes that she's dead. Now she needs to find her vessel – a boy who shares her birthday, a boy she wouldn't be caught dead with.
Clark Daniels.
With Clark being the only one who can see her, Avery is quickly finding out that her picture perfect prom queen life might be as fake as the blonde in her hair. Whether it's being dead that's messing with her mind or it's from spending so much time with him – Avery is actually starting to like Clark. As if things weren't bad enough.
But there's no time for that; not with a Reaper breathing down her ghostly neck. She has to find her killer, and fast. Her time is running out.

Death of a Suspect (Clearview Academy Book 2) by Amy Richie

Who killed Avery?
All the clues point to one person; Avery is sure of it. Of course, she's been wrong about almost everything so far. As she searches for clues with her Vessel and Clark Daniels, she realizes that some things aren't adding up.
Will Avery and her friends be able to find out who the killer is or are they headed for another dead end? And how exactly do you accuse someone of murder?
Things are bound to get awkward as the summer comes to an end and Avery is forced to look at people differently than she ever has before.

The Death of a Swan (Clearview Academy Book 3) by Amy Richie

Starting senior year at Clearview Academy was supposed to be an exciting time, but for Avery Lewis things are a bit more complicated than your average senior. Being dead and using someone else's body to go to school wasn't exactly how she imagined this year to go. Going from the most popular to invisible new girl was enough to make anyone irritated.
At least she has Laney - her Vessel, and Clark – her almost boyfriend, sometimes, and Lindsey – her sister. The four of them have one mission : to find her killer. Step one, make her popular again. That should be easy, right? She was Avery Lewis, after all.
Yeah. Not so much.

The Death of a Cheerleader (Clearview Academy Book 4)
by Amy Richoe

Things are starting to really heat up between Avery -posed as Laney- and Cassie Andrews. The pranks are getting out of hand. The battle between the two is reaching a peak, and one of them will win.
Who gets to be on top?
For Avery, it's more important than ever to beat Cassie at her own game. As her search for her killer continues and her fight with Cassie escalates to a dangerous level, Avery starts to wonder how anyone makes it out of high school alive.
Oh my word.

Review

Book 1 is a full length novel but the remainder are novellas. My review reflects Books 1 -4.

The Death of a Suspect follows book 1, The Death of Me. in book 1, High School Queen Avery Lewis who attends a party, is murdered, and wakes up as a ghost in an alley. There she is visited by a reaper and told she must find her vessel. It just so happens that her vessel is Clark Daniel. Clark could not be any more different than Avery. Where Avery lives on the right side of town, is preppy, and popular, Clark is from the opposite side of town, lives in a run-down trailer park, isn't popular, and drives a beat-up car. Avery gets knocked down a few pegs as she has no choice but to pair up with Clark and see things through his eyes. Avery soon realizes that it's possible that someone she knew murdered her and that her friends may not really be her friends after all.

In Book 2, Avery uses Laney (Clark's twin sister and therefore her vessel too) to spy on their number 1 suspect - Tyler. Things seem pretty shady between him and Cassie so Avery, Laney, and Avery's sister Lindsey follow Tyler in an attempt to get dirt on him or an outright confession.

In Book 3 & 4, Avery's ghost is fading and her reaper warns time is running out. Avery, Laney, Lindsey, and Clark must act quickly. Avery is attending high school in Laney's body, rejoining the cheer team, and dating a football player, all in an attempt to find her killer. Avery gets first hand look, literally, at what it means to not be popular and to have the so called elite of the school single her out when she get the cafeteria lunch garbage dumped all over her. To get even, Avery/Laney and Lindsay lock one of the instigators in the truck of Lindsey car during a football game. When they go to let her put they find she was murdered and had the same symbol carved into her as Avery.

The author is slowing killing me with these novellas!!!! I need to know why these murders are happening and who is doing them. This is a fast paced, well written thriller from Amy Richie.

I need a shot of whiskey and a holy blessing after that ride. Wowzers. Haven Cage delivered a heart stopping tale of Heaven vs Hell. Nevaeh's emotions emanated from the story. I feel like my heart has been shoved through a wringer. And that ending!

Lucy Zukaitus' sultry southern voice ensnared me from page one!
