This trilogy was just the start for Emily. It seemed to open a creative door that had been locked.

Emily has always been an avid reader. Through reading came her love of writing. The more she read, the more she knew she wanted to create her own world. Many of her first works were fan fiction.

Emily and her family currently reside in Cibolo, Texas. She has an incredibly supportive husband who is also an officer in the United States Air Force. They have three sons, ages 6, 4, and 1. The man slowly turns his head, and bright emerald eyes lock with my own slate blue ones. I swallow hard before jerking my eyes away from his to focus on the patient. â€œWhat happened?â€

The little boy on the exam table looks between the man and me. His brow is furrowed in confusion. When he realizes the man isnâ€™t answering he takes it upon himself to do so. â€œI jumped off the swing.â€

â€œA daredevil I see.â€ I force a smile on my face even though the man is still blocking my way. Reminding myself time is of the utmost importance I ask. â€œUmm, do you mind moving, so I can check out his arm?â€

Before he can respond I hear the front door bell ding, muffled voices, and the sound of more foot fall heading my way. I twist my head to look behind me only to find the largest man Iâ€™ve ever seen. He has to duck his head to walk into the room, heâ€™s so tall. Somehow, I work up the courage to ask. â€œCan I help you?â€

Around the giant man a small attractive brunette woman pushes through and answers for him. â€œThatâ€™s our son.â€

â€œThen who is this?â€ I ask pointing at the man still on his knees.

â€œMy brother.â€ The giant answers, and then as if taking in the strange scene for the first time asks. â€œWhat in the world are you doing on the ground?â€

Oddly, instead of responding to his brother, still staring at me, the man on his knees says. â€œYou smell like peppermint cocoa.â€

â€œOh hell.â€ The brunette woman says before giggling.

â€œAbout time.â€ The giant chuckles.

I ignore them both and ask. â€œWhat?â€

The man slowly picks himself up off the floor, moves closer to me (not that we arenâ€™t all already cramped in this small room), and states. â€œYou smell like a Christmas drink.â€

â€œDid you fall too?â€ I ask.

â€œWhat?â€ He asks in return.

â€œDid you fall and hit your head?â€ I elaborate my earlier question.

The woman and giant break out into hysterical laughter this time. What is wrong with these people?

â€œOf course, I havenâ€™t.â€

â€œHave you been drinking?â€ I ask, keeping with my line of questions. The parents of the boy start to laugh harder. I continue to ignore them.

â€œAre you asking if Iâ€™m drunk?â€ The man questions me back.

â€œWell, yes.â€

â€œAlcohol has no impact on shifters.â€ I hear Megan holler from outside the room, having clearly been listening in to this train wreck.

â€œReally?â€ I ask the man.

â€œReally.â€ He responds, obviously getting agitated.

â€œCan they be diabetic?â€ I ask my next question.

â€œWhat the hell are you getting at?â€ The man asks, his bright green eyes flashing with agitation.

â€œYouâ€™re not making any sense, so Iâ€™m trying to assess the situation to make sure thereâ€™s nothing medically wrong with you.â€ I explain what I believe is obvious. Instead of responding the man starts emanating a low growl.

I turn my head to ask the giant. â€œIs this normal behavior from your brother?â€

Wiping the tears of laughter from his eyes, he responds, â€œAbsolutely not.â€

â€œOkay. Should I be concerned that heâ€™s growling like that?â€ I have no experience around shifters, other than Doc, and not once in the all the years Iâ€™ve known him has he ever growled at me.

â€œHeâ€™s not going to harm you.â€ The giant answers, giving me some relief.

â€œHe might bite her.â€ The woman gives as a contradicting answer.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I don't really like insta-love relationships, but I love Kristin's writing so of course I had to read this! It took some time for me to get into it, but it was worth it! Damian was always so over protective it was like woah! But by the end it is all explained. While it didn't end in a cliffhanger, the I have to read the next one now feeling, it also didn't tell you who was behind it! SO yes on to the next one I go :-)

Crash!

Wow, what a book. This was a fast read, as Molly's books usually are for me. So hard to put down!. I love the spin to the normal 'Christmas Cottage' theme. This had nothing to do with the holidays but we still got the horrible Winter weather and being stranded. The only reason this isn't a 5 star is due to editing. Maybe I catch too much but there were missing words. Easy enough to know what it was supposed to say though. Doesn't take away from the story at all.
